Structured matrices arise in many disciplines in applied mathematics and engineering. Fast algorithms for structured matrices are of particular importance in data analysis and signal and image processing. The workshop aims at bringing together researchers, scientists and graduate students from China and abroad to exchange and stimulate ideas in structured matrix computations. It will provide a venue for the dialogue and collaboration between matrix theoreticians and the computational scientists in the area of structure matrix computation so that the gap between the researchers working on the fundamentals and those working on real-life applications can be reduced.
